CGI (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A) today announced that the State of Louisiana’s Division of Administration, Office of Technology Services has extended its partnership with CGI to deliver IT services for programs, including Road Home, managed by the Office of Community Development/Disaster Recovery Unit (OCD/DRU). The contract renewal is valued at US$19 million over three years.
Established in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and expanded to include efforts related to Hurricanes Gustav and Ike, the Road Home program seeks to provide financial assistance to property owners and is the largest single housing recovery program in U.S. history. CGI supports these programs, like Road Home, with comprehensive IT governance and oversight; application development and maintenance; IT help desk and asset management; and IT infrastructure management. CGI’s team includes Louisiana-based partners Sparkhound and Blue Streak Technologies.
“Over the past six years, our partnership with CGI has enabled us to expand business capabilities, reduce IT operational costs, and most importantly, help the state better support Louisiana citizens affected by various storms,” said Richard Howze, Chief Information Officer, State of Louisiana.
“CGI is pleased to continue its partnership with the State supporting its ongoing disaster recovery operations,” said Dave Henderson, Senior Vice-President, CGI. “We appreciate Louisiana’s ongoing confidence in our ability to deliver efficient, responsive services for the State and its impacted citizens.”
