Karlis has been working at CGI Latvia for more than six years. He first learned about the internship at CGI through a partner who had participated in the program a year earlier.
"I heard a lot of good things about the learning process, office location, team activities, and internship terms. So, I attended the University of Latvia's Career Days event, eager to learn more and apply for the internship," says Karlis.
"The internship allowed me to gain valuable experience in the key concepts and challenges of IT project delivery and work on my qualification diploma project for university."
Karlis also highlights that the internship program prepared him and his teammates for the business and technical aspects of their roles. Since completing the internship, he has applied some of its most fundamental lessons and gained experience from real-life projects and their challenges.
"Don’t be afraid to challenge yourself — you’ll learn everything you need during this internship!" is Karlis's message to future interns.
"Throughout my time at CGI, I’ve had the opportunity to pass four different exams in technical, business, and project management domains. I also took a break from work to participate in the Erasmus+ program in Rome for five months."
