Hi Roxane! Nice meeting you. Tell us about how you got started at CGI.
I was looking for a job in 2017, and a friend who was working at CGI at the time recommended looking for an opportunity in CGI. My family also encouraged me to learn more about the company, as CGI has a very good reputation.
Six years on, how do you feel about your career journey at CGI?
I love it! It’s been such an empowering experience. I started as an executive assistant, which gave me the opportunity to meet different people across the company and build my network. In this role, I really got to develop my relationship-building skills. This helped tremendously as I transitioned to a project manager role in the health and well-being team in France. My role is focused on diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) programs, particularly disability inclusion. Our goal is to make CGI the most inclusive IT and business consulting services firm in France.
Are there any particular events or initiatives that you’d like to highlight?
Two projects have marked my career. First is our CGI for Good digital platform. This global platform enables our colleagues to volunteer for charitable causes and establish connections with others. I played a key role in the deployment and promotion of the platform in France. The second is the creation of a CGI team of Paralympic athletes*—an initiative to raise awareness and advance our commitment to the recruitment, inclusion training and continued employment of people living with disabilities. As part of this project, I work directly with these athletes, which is a life-altering experience. I manage certain aspects of the project, including promoting the athletes’ activities and involvement within CGI.
There are many interesting assignments and career opportunities at CGI, but I didn’t think I’d find a role that would be this meaningful and fulfilling. Even my friends and family have noticed my passion for what I do.
Your career story is inspiring. Can you tell us what you love about the CGI culture?
From the start, I really appreciated the ownership culture and how we all are guided by the CGI Dream: to create an environment in which we enjoy working together and, as owners, contribute to building a company we can be proud of. I really feel this represents my career path so far at CGI, working on and leading projects that I feel truly passionate about with my colleagues and, together, building something we are proud of. Corporate social responsibility is one of our core values and we have an active ESG (environmental, social and governance) program. I definitely identify the most with this value and program, professionally and personally.
You are very engaged in ESG and health and well-being. Do you feel CGI has contributed to your health and well-being?
Yes, 100%. I am very grateful I found a role that advocates for inclusivity, something I feel strongly about. My leadership team has consistently supported my career goals and encouraged me to explore opportunities aligned with my values. Each day, I show up to work determined and energized, feeling like I’m making a difference and helping advance inclusivity in the workplace.
I am also part of our global Mental Health Ambassadors network. I’ve received training internally to assist colleagues who are struggling with their mental health and need someone to talk to.
What have you learned since you’ve joined the Mental Health Ambassadors network? Can you share any advice?
I’ve learned that it’s okay to ask for help. Knowing when to ask for help is a strength and not a weakness. Acknowledging we need help and asking for it is a sign that we know ourselves well. And when we show up for ourselves, we can be more present for others.
One piece of advice I’d like to share is that it’s important to take time for ourselves so we have the opportunity to think and reflect. I’ve found this to be really helpful when I need to recharge.
Thank you, Roxane, for sharing your inspiring career journey at CGI!
