CGI, in association with Access Livelihoods, has launched the Women Entrepreneurship Program (WEP), that aims to provide digital and financial literacy to women from the marginalized sections of our society. The program empowers women entrepreneurs to establish and run their businesses successfully.
As part of this launch, 36 participants from Vikarabad district of Telangana sponsored by CGI and 36 participants from Bolangir district of Odisha with the support from International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) participated in a travel workshop.
Speakers from IRRI and CGI spoke to the participants to motivate them and provide guidance on running a successful enterprise. Dr. Ranjitha Puskur from IRRI highlighted the challenges on establishing an enterprise and emphasized the importance of never giving up in life. Ms. Chandana Tikkavarapu from CGI shared her life experiences and inspired the women to stay motivated and take initiative in everything they do. The participants were also given welcome kits as part of the workshop.
