Meet Kristians, a young professional at CGI Latvia who began his career journey as an intern. Kristians fondly recalls his experience as a student intern, describing CGI as an incredibly welcoming and supportive environment for students. “If you’re considering applying, I highly encourage you to do so! During his internship, Kristians gained invaluable knowledge about the insurance field, including both its fundamentals and the operation of insurance platforms. Yet, he emphasizes that the experience was about more than just technical skills. Working alongside four other interns in the same role created lasting memories and a rewarding sense of camaraderie.
“The internship truly prepared me for my current role,” Kristians reflects. “It taught me about the insurance field and the platform I work with today. Without that knowledge, I wouldn’t be in my current position. It also helped me settle into the company and get to know my coworkers. The experience gave me clarity about whether this field and role were right for me. And since I’m still here, I think we know the answer.”
Kristians also highlights the long-term benefits of the internship for career growth. “This internship provides an excellent opportunity to explore future career paths. You gain exposure to different roles, collaborate with interesting people, and learn a wealth of new skills.
