Meet Jelena, who is working with CGI Latvia following the Acando merger last year. Jelena has over nine years of experience in her field. She works as a business analyst and consultant, responsible for analyzing requirements and clients‘ business processes, creating user guides, and building trainings as per clients' requirements. She has a solutions-oriented mindset with interest in developing processes that enable faster project delivery. She is a hard-working individual, supportive, and a valuable team player. One of Jelena's highlights was when she received the Team Player of The Year award.
We asked Jelena what gets her inspired working in CGI; she says that being in a highly competitive environment, provides growth and development opportunities. Her professional goal is for next year is to advance her skills in various technologies such as CRM, ERP, Cloud etc. and further contribute to the clients' business needs by applying her knowledge.
Jelena has vast experience working on onsite and offsite projects. Whilst working onsite Jelena enjoyed the immense opportunities to connect with clients directly, understand their business needs, and be part of the active work environment. However, her previous experience working remotely has helped her during the pandemic. She sees an opportunity to utilize virtual methods of engagement not only with clients but with colleagues, by hosting and participating in virtual meetings not only as part of everyday work life but also catching up socially and connecting on a more emotional level, to ensure everyone is getting through these difficult times in good spirit.
Jelena shares her tips for staying productive while working remotely. She says one of the most important aspects is to maintain work-life balance and set-up a regular work routine: get up early, plan daily tasks, prepare meals in advance to avoid work creep. The need to maintain focus for a long period of time, e.g. remote workshops that last for 2-4 hours, she emphasizes the importance of staying physically active. Jelena loves taking short breaks for stretching, walking, and cycling, which helps her remain productive throughout the day.
