CGI stood by its members and communities in the fight against the pandemic. As a volunteer group in CGI, we also wanted to support our colleagues and their families in need as much as possible.
Together, we were able to help over 1,000 individuals get access to resources such as hospital beds, medication, food, and medical guidance. We got calls from our colleagues who were under immense stress and panic. I made sure I listened to them carefully, assessed their needs, and most importantly, give them the confidence that they were not alone.
I experienced many highs and lows during this time. While on the one hand, I was able to help out various colleagues who reached out through the central repository of resources, there were other times when despite the best efforts we couldn’t do much to help.
I tried to stay as positive as I could through the whole phase. This was the biggest platform by which I was able to reach so many people. The strength, positivity, and satisfaction that I’ve received by being a part of these efforts have been immense and I am proud to have been part of it.
