The laboratory and library is one of the chosen projects for CGI’s Dream Connectors programme, an annual company-wide initiative where CGI professionals receive support for projects that improve the social, economic and environmental well-being of the communities in which they live and work.

“As part of living our Corporate Social Responsibility value, Dream Connectors leverages the strengths of CGI’s greatest assets: our professional’s commitment, innovative thinking and IT expertise,” said George Mattackal, President of CGI’s Asia Pacific Global Delivery Centres of Excellence. “The laboratory and library aim to help visually impaired students reach their academic goals and give them the confidence and training they need to become more independent as they explore employment opportunities.”

The Dream Connectors project, proposed by Vivek Raja who works within CGI’s offices in Chennai, received support from CGI for the purchase and installation of assistive digital equipment such as braille printers, refreshable braille displays, talking assistive gadgets and text reading devices.
