Montreal, Quebec, 15 septembre 2003

CGI Group (Europe) Ltd (CGI), the European arm of Canada's largest independent IT services company, today announced that it is looking to recruit IT developers and business analysts following an increase in demand for the company's flagship product, GIOS (General Insurance Open Solution).

CGI can offer new members a rigorous training programme, providing the chosen candidates with wide-scope for career development and progression. Furthermore, the company is also able to present a variety of oversees opportunities and consultancy roles, giving new employees more choice with regards to job diversity.

“In the current climate CGI is in the great position of actively recruiting,” says Mark Roberts, Executive Director, Insurance Solutions, CGI Europe. “We are heavily committed to investing in people and training and, as GIOS is based on Oracle technology, we’re looking for people with Oracle-related skills and experience. As a significant proportion of our business comes from the insurance sector, we also place a high value on experience gained in an insurance organisation.”

CGI has already invested more than £30 million into the development of GIOS, which is the only solution of its kind that is wholly proven to simultaneously support all lines of business, multiple products, currencies (including the Euro) and languages. GIOS can currently be found operating in more than 20 countries across Europe, the Asia Pacific region, Africa and the Americas. Customers include Allianz, one of the world’s largest insurance groups, If, the Nordic-based insurance company and Vhi, one of Ireland’s most recognised and trusted health insurance brands. GIOS is fast becoming the leading administration solution used by large insurance organisations worldwide.

Roberts continues: “GIOS is hugely scalable, has a proven ability to support every type of insurance product, and has the capability to support different languages and country-specific products: three reasons why GIOS is attracting the interest of many leading insurance companies.

“This current recruitment drive represents a great opportunity for people with an Oracle background to move into a rapidly growing new product area and help CGI establish the new industry standard.”
