At CGI, we believe there should be no limits on a person’s dreams, wants and desires. That’s why we are unconditionally inclusive. It’s how we create a place where everyone can be themselves and it’s for this reason we were especially delighted to be recognised at The Women in Tech Employer Awards on Thursday 26 May. The awards acknowledge employers going above and beyond to close the gender gap in the tech sector and it’s no secret that we place particular emphasis on gender diversity and ensuring that all women have the opportunity to thrive.

We submitted entries in three award categories and were up against some strong competition from the likes of Serco, Capital One and Aviva.

The categories were:

Best Tech Employer (Over 500 employees)

Recognising employers with over 500 employees who have demonstrated an outstanding effort over the past 18 months to attract and retain women in their IT/ Technology departments.

Best Recruitment Marketing Campaign

Giving recognition to the employers that have gone above and beyond with their recruitment marketing campaigns in order to hire more women in tech.  We submitted our ’Shining a Spotlight on the Women of CGI’ campaign for this category.

Best Employer Network

Celebrating the opportunities and empowerment created by the structure of a women’s network.

We couldn’t have been prouder to share and celebrate the supportive and inclusive culture we’ve created for women here at CGI and we’re pleased to share that we won in the Best Recruitment Marketing Campaign and the prestigious Best Tech Employer (Over 500 employees). We are so proud to have won these awards. It’s a testament to the culture we all foster for women to thrive at CGI.

Tara McGeehan, President, UK Australia Operations says “At CGI we continue to focus on improving female representation within our business and supporting female progression by pay and seniority levels. While some of our plans were disrupted by the unusual circumstances of 2021 and the pandemic, I am pleased that our continued focus on member promotion strategies, with a particular emphasis on supporting female progression, is having a positive effect. Promoting diversity, equity and inclusion remains central to our people plans in CGI. We are committed to providing an environment in which all members have an equal opportunity to fulfill their potential”.
