For the past two years, I’ve led Robotics Processing Automation, AIOps, Data Centre Management and Security and Vulnerability Remediation in CGI’s Global Technology Operations business unit (GTO). My role spans partner management, financial oversight, bid work and service delivery, ensuring clients receive high-quality, forward-thinking solutions in a fast-moving environment.
From Service Desk to leadership
I joined CGI after university as a Service Desk log and pass analyst, where I built a strong foundation in IT service management and client solutions. Over 14 years, I’ve moved through roles in Proactive Services, Business Strategy, and Data Centre Management, each bringing new challenges that expanded my skills and leadership abilities. GTO has provided a dynamic career path, allowing me to explore Technical Operations, Partner Management and Data Analytics. The problem-solving culture and commitment to continuous improvement have made it an exciting place to grow.
Stepping into leadership
Moving into a Director role required me to adapt quickly, build confidence and make strategic decisions. Leading teams, driving operational efficiency and delivering complex solutions challenged me to step outside my comfort zone. The encouragement of colleagues and mentors was invaluable in this transition. At CGI, the culture of support and development is evident at every stage. Whether through mentoring, knowledge-sharing or professional certifications, the opportunities to learn and evolve are limitless.
Overcoming challenges, building resilience
One of my biggest challenges has been leading teams through major incidents and unexpected disruptions. Staying calm, making informed decisions and fostering accountability were key lessons. Facing these challenges has strengthened my leadership approach and problem-solving mindset.
Looking ahead: Innovation and growth
As technology advances and client needs evolve, sustainable innovation and integrated solutions will be critical. Collaboration across teams will be essential in shaping business transformation and delivering meaningful outcomes. Developing future leaders is also a priority for me. Ensuring that CGI Partners have opportunities to grow aligns with our focus on sustainability and diversity and inclusion, creating a lasting impact on both the business and the industry.
