Modernising Sodexo’s IT with Azure migration

Formed in 1966, Sodexo is a global leader in sustainable food services. With operations in 45 countries and a workforce of 423,000 serving over 80 million customers daily, Sodexo is committed to creating valued experiences at every moment of life.

Looking to align with global cloud standards, Sodexo UK wanted to migrate its infrastructure and applications to Microsoft Azure. Its aim was to establish a modernised IT system, reducing the risks and costs associated with ageing hardware, creating better operational agility, and improving disaster recovery.

The challenges associated with delivering a seamless cloud migration led Sodexo to engage CGI Advisory Services, specifically our cloud and Microsoft experts. 

Applying our knowledge of Azure best practices, and vast experience of supporting organisations through cloud, infrastructure and application migrations, we helped Sodexo develop and execute a tailored migration plan that prioritised reducing risk, minimising business disruption, and ensuring zero data loss.

• Automated workload configurations to streamline processes.
• Technical leadership and consulting for Sodexo’s Azure, application, security, and networking teams, collaborating with its UK, global, and third parties.

We ensured Sodexo UK experienced a seamless migration to Azure with minimal business disruption, establishing a more secure, scalable, and modern IT environment that addressed its technical debt.
