DataMapWales required a single source of truth as they had multiple data sources from different parties and needed a platform on which they could rapidly deploy pan-Wales location-based services. The requirement was to achieve this in an open way with services based on a common open standards-based platform that could interface with existing geospatial tools.
CGI worked with the Welsh Government to design an open architecture based on open standards, with the application now in the Welsh Government Azure tenancy. This solution provides the Welsh Government with a standard way of downloading data in a single location, which reduces complexity.
Due to the approach of CGI and the Welsh Government working as a combined team and the success of the solution design, CGI has been appointed to deliver the fourth line support contract for DataMapWales.
