The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) has named CGI in the UK as one of its official automated service providers, welcoming the organisation into the Automation Marketplace Dynamic Purchasing Agreement (DPS). The new Automation Marketplace seeks to address procurement for public sector departments, including the Central Government and the wider public sector.
The four-year framework has been designed to be a simpler and quicker process for governmental departments to select and access approved suppliers. It will streamline the process through its electronic platform and has offered flexibility not previously seen before.
“The new framework is a way for us to continue working closely with government departments, helping to supply them with the best support and experience available,” said Kevin O’Neill, Vice President Consulting Services, Central Government for CGI in the UK. “It allows us to provide technology services which drive innovative solutions through the public sector. The Automation Services Framework enables Public Sector organisations to embrace automation to deliver sustainable, streamlined and efficient automated processes and services to revolutionise citizen service. As such, an effective relationship from the start will not only set the tone but removes previous hurdles which have the potential to obstruct innovation.”
CGI is a pioneer in delivering Intelligent Automation services into the UK Public Sector within Local Government, Central Government, Ministry of Defence and policing organisations some of whom have been early adopters of Robotic Process Automation, Optical Character Recognition, Chatbots and Machine Learning. CGI helps clients make the most of AI as a tool to accelerate returns on digitization investments.
These organisations are now working with CGI on the next phase to combine the technologies of Intelligent Automation to deliver near touchless services to increase operational efficiency, improve staff morale and provide a more sustainable and reliable operation.
A new offering for the CCS, The Automation Marketplace DPS Agreement will allow them to provide commercial offerings via a single route. They believe that by being able to select bidding suppliers, such as CGI, efficiently they can provide a greater opportunity to implement new applications and processes which are crucial to the technology needs of their public sector organisations.
The CCS is seeking to establish this DPS Marketplace to provide a smoother procurement process for governmental departments to select the best-automated services possible. Among the many departments who will have access to the marketplace are Central Government, Defence, Police, Education, Health and Local Government.
