CGI SignalSense is a service provided by CGI that helps operators understand the availability and reliability of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signals. This is crucial for ensuring safe and efficient operations, especially in environments where GNSS interference can pose significant risks.

Key features

  • Interference Detection: It uses a network of sensors to detect GNSS interference, which can affect operations like air traffic management, maritime safety, and emergency services.

  • Real-Time Notifications: Operators receive near real-time alerts when significant GNSS degradation is detected, allowing them to adjust their operations accordingly.

  • Scalability: The system is scalable and can be deployed on public or private clouds, making it adaptable to various operational needs.

CGI SignalSense has multiple sensor types providing situational awareness including;

  • A network of space based sensors able to geolocate to great accuracy and with minimal latency interference signals over wide areas

  • A sensor node enabling detection of interference across all GNSS frequencies in near real-time

  • A network of crowdsourced sensors able to detect hotspots of interference

  • A mobile phone based sensor which uses the native Android GNSS receiver enabling a covert method for identifying both jamming and spoofing of GNSS spectrum

  • A drone, vehicle or backpack based geolocator using software defined radios
