London, 03 July 2013

CGI Group Inc. (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A) today announced that it is now providing managed payroll services for more than 25,000 employees across the Department of Health Arms Length Bodies (ALBs). ALBs currently using CGI’s payroll services include NHS England, Public Health England, Health Education England, the NHS Litigation Authority and the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence.

The managed services are delivered through the successful Government Procurement Services framework for payroll, HR and finance. The full end-to-end payroll processes and services are provided by CGI in partnership with McKesson UK, a trusted healthcare technology solutions and services provider using the NHS Electronic Staff Record (ESR) system.

Under the Government Procurement Framework each DoH ALB is able to benefit through the sharing of back office functions enabling a quick roll-out of a high quality service that is consistent for all employees and delivers value for money through standardised pricing.

Andrew Marsh, Vice President of Business Process Services at CGI in the UK said, “The DOH ALB’s use of CGI’s payroll managed services is a great example of the benefits of shared services in quickly delivering a good quality and consistent approach to a large number of users across organisations. In less than five months we have been able to roll-out accurate and reliable payroll services to a huge number of employees.”

Frank Rutley, Vice President, UK Workforce Solutions, McKesson UK, said, “McKesson’s partnership with CGI is demonstrating real benefits to our customers. The success in delivering this service is based on the combined strength of our expertise and knowledge, as well as the formidable commitment of our Shared Services staff to support customers in overcoming the complex challenges during this time of significant transition for the NHS.”

The seven year contract signed in late 2012 for DH’s ALBs builds on CGI’s experience in delivering payroll systems and services for organisations across the UK public sector. It provides payroll services to over 90 Government Procurement Services framework clients.
