This year the conference will look at how the North East has excelled, succeeded and united to overcome the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

There is a lot of data on poor ‘Population Health’ in the North East compared to the rest of the country. The healthy life expectancy in the North East is consistently found to be below the national average and we currently face great health challenges such as rising level of diabetes, misuse of alcohol, high number of obesity and increasing number of deaths due to cardiovascular diseases.
