London, United Kingdom, 06 July 2022

CGI (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A) announced today the launch of a programme to partner with UK-based small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as part of its newly formed nature-based ecosystem. The programme seeks organisations with digital solutions demonstrated to help protect the environment. Through the initiative, CGI will identify, create and launch vital solutions that address national environmental challenges and support net-zero goals.

Organisations interested in joining the ecosystem should have unique and innovative digital technology solutions that address biodiversity loss and support the acceleration of net-zero journeys for organisations, communities and general infrastructure across the UK. Applications are due by Wednesday 7 September 2022, with successful pitch sessions taking place on Wednesday 21 September during the Leeds Digital Festival, either in person or virtually. CGI will select one partner organisation per sea, sky and earth category, plus one additional standout organisation from across all three categories.

Mattie Yeta, Chief Sustainability Officer at CGI in the UK, said: “We are always looking for innovative ways to build our ecosystem and to empower and partner with organisations that put sustainability and environmentalism at their heart. By encouraging innovative digital solutions, we can collaborate to reduce climate change’s impact and reverse environmental damage, making the future safer and cleaner.”

The four successful organisations will join CGI’s partner ecosystem with access to relevant clients and markets. SME partners will benefit from CGI’s industry and technology expertise to support their future development needs, as well as strong client demand. This includes an invitation to exhibit at CGI’s client and member Ecosystem Partner Expo in London on 8 November. This is timed to coincide with COP27, which takes place in Egypt from 7 – 18 November.

CGI is committed to corporate sustainability objectives, achieving validation for its science-based targets in 2021 that are required to keep global warming to 1.5°C. This initiative sits alongside CGI’s other commitments, such as SEEDS, developed in partnership with academia and supported by the United Nations, and CGI’s partnership with the CBI Be More Green Toolkit.
