CGI has entered into collaboration with the Swedish traceability company TrusTrace. With TrusTrace's platform, combining blockchain, AI, IoT and QR code technology, CGI will be able to help customers in the food and the fashion industries improve their traceability across the entire supply chain.
Production of food and fashion has a major impact on the environment. In addition, these are industries where working conditions are often questioned in terms of social and ethical aspects. More and more environmentally conscious consumers are putting pressure on companies not only to report but also actively work with social and environmental sustainability. For many businesses this is a challenge. A single product can have hundreds of data points for raw materials, manufacturing and transportation. With the new collaboration, CGI will be able to include TrusTrace's platform, as an important tool to help customers collect and validate data, as well as assist them with knowledge of data analysis, visualization, digitization and optimization of the supply chain, so that they can work to improve their sustainability in an efficient and credible way.
"By collaborating with TrusTrace, we are better armed to help customers meet both higher demands from environmentally conscious consumers as well as EU Taxonomy and Global Legislation," says Christian Haeger, Vice President Sector Retail at CGI.
"Technology is a key factor to solving global social and environmental challenges. CGI’s long-history within sustainability stems from our roots in technology and innovation. We work with many different technical solutions, both in-house developed and through various partnerships, to help our customers achieve their goals, he continues.”
“We are very pleased to partner with CGI, a company with extensive knowledge from important industries, strong expertise in sourcing and a global reach when it comes to driving innovation and responsible business practices,” says Shameek Ghosh, Co-Founder and CEO, TrusTrace . "We look forward to working with CGI to continue to solve complex challenges so that organizations can ensure a more sustainable business."
