Ethics statement
CGI is committed to acting lawfully, fairly and with integrity in all our business operations and relationships. At CGI our employees are known as “members” to reflect that they are not only employees or workers but are also participants in the business and contribute to its success. As part of the annual performance review process, all members are required to acknowledge that they have read and understood CGI’s Code of Ethics in the form of the “Member Commitment”, in which (among other aspects relating to business conduct and governance) members agree to treat all persons with respect and integrity.
Modern slavery
As a services organisation where the vast majority of our employees are highly skilled and are contracted directly by our company, we consider the risk of modern slavery and forced labour within our own work force to be low. Our annual statement outlines our commitment to providing safe and fair working conditions for all our employees. It also reflects the way in which we work with our partners and suppliers to ensure socially responsible and ethical business practices are embedded throughout our organisation and beyond.
Gender pay gap
We continue to focus on diversity and inclusion at all levels of the Company and we are proud to share this work in annually in our annual Gender Pay report. Through our ongoing Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, we are committed to promoting opportunities for more women to work in technology and to inspire the next generation to join us here at CGI.
Tax strategy
As a responsible organisation, we manage tax according to ethical principles and standards. CGI complies with all relevant laws and regulations whilst achieving our overall vision of being a global, world class information technology and business process services leader helping our clients succeed.
Real living wage
CGI became an accredited Living Wage Employer in November 2019. The real Living Wage is calculated according to the costs of living. It provides a voluntary benchmark for employers that wish to ensure their staff earn a wage they can live on, not just the government minimum. Our commitment to the Living Wage ensures we pay all our people fairly and recognise their valuable contribution to the success of our business. As a responsible organisation, we are proud of our commitment in this area and how this will support our wider communities.
Criminal finances act
CGI is committed to acting lawfully, fairly and with integrity in all our business operations and relationships. Following enactment of the UK Criminal Finances Act 2017 (which creates corporate offences in relation to the facilitation of tax evasion), CGI IT UK Limited carried out a risk assessment. As a result of the assessment and in line with HM Revenue & Customs’ guidance, CGI IT UK Limited has implemented a policy to counter the facilitation of tax evasion.
Supply chain management
As a socially responsible organisation, CGI ensures the suppliers and contractors used to support the delivery of services to our clients meet high standards regarding human rights, the environment and employment issues to ensure they are aligned with CGI’s vision and goals. We use mostly UK based organisations, 30% of which are Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
Accreditations
CGI is recognised as being among the world's most sustainable companies on both the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices and FTSE4Good. CGI received recognition from the Carbon Disclosure Project for its advanced environmental stewardship and has been awarded the EcoVadis Gold rating for CSR commitment, placing CGI among the top 5% of companies for sustainability performance across:environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
