Fairfax, Virginia, February 16, 2012

CGI Group Inc. (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A), a leading provider of information technology and business process services, today announced its participation in the development and launch of the TechAmerica Foundation’s State and Local Government Cloud Commission’s (SLG-CC) recommendations on cloud computing for U.S. states and localities. The Commission’s report is to be released at an event in Silicon Valley today, February 16, 2012, where Aldona Valicenti, CGI Vice President and SLG-CC Commissioner, will participate on the vendor panel discussion.

“Cloud computing offers state and local governments the opportunity to address many pressing technical and budgetary challenges without capital investment,” said Valicenti. “I am proud of the work done by this Commission—the report is a one-stop tool for any government leader looking to understand the issues and implementation requirements as well as find working examples of cloud in government.”

CGI delivers robust cloud technology for government at all levels, such as the State of Wyoming, Wake County, NC, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the U.S. General Services Administration. CGI deploys cloud solutions for both the government and commercial enterprise markets in the United States and Canada and was the first to host critical U.S. national websites in its certified-secure federal cloud.

“This is just the beginning of this conversation. What the Commissioners and the Foundation are delivering is a platform for sharing leading practices and successes as cloud computing moves beyond the early-adopter stage. We hope the report and the web portal will enable ongoing dialogue between industry and SLGs, to support those who are taking cloud to the next level,” said Jennifer Kerber, President of the TechAmerica Foundation.
