Susan Balding was appointed to lead CGI’s marketing and communication function in June 2022. She and her team are responsible for strengthening CGI’s brand, raising market awareness through traditional and digital media, enabling business development, positioning of the firm’s industry expertise, orchestrating strategic alliance partnerships, and increasing engagement with the company’s 90,250 consultants and professionals. In this role, Susan is a member of CGI’s Global Operations Management Committee, which oversees the implementation of the company’s enterprise-wide strategy.
She joined CGI in November 2009 and held successive leadership roles in marketing and communication, CEO/executive communications, and strategic and business planning in the U.S. Federal, U.S. Commercial and Canadian operations. Most recently she led CGI’s global enterprise business intelligence and strategic planning functions including the firm’s proprietary Voice of Our Clients program.
Previously, Susan led branding, marketing, communication and reputation-building initiatives at a diverse range of public and private companies and non-profits, including Manpower Group, Booz Allen Hamilton, National Public Radio and the San Diego Symphony. She started her career as a communications and public affairs consultant for the U.S. Navy, with roles in multiple cities in the United States and in Japan.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in business and marketing from Duquesne University. In 2020, she received a CGI Builders Award for her contribution to the growth and success of the company.
