As the demand for AI continues to increase, CGI invested in developing a global AI learning strategy and plan for its professionals that recently received top recognition from Skillsoft, one of the world’s leading providers of organizational learning experiences. The outcomes of CGI’s internal AI learning earned the company “Program of the Year” and “Impact” awards from Skillsoft in 2024.
Among CGI’s 90,250 professionals, 70,000 took the voluntary training within a 3-month timeframe, earning a total of 140,000 digital badges for courses completed. Further, after completing the training, 90% of participants felt confident they could apply what they learned in their daily work.

Launched in three phases throughout 2024, CGI’s AI learning strategy includes:
1. Build fluency among all CGI professionals in the responsible use of AI, as well as in general AI concepts and their impact on business
2. Develop the AI skills of its developers and other technical professionals
3. Advance the thinking of its leaders and experts to drive AI innovation, thought leadership, and business development
In developing content for its AI learning journey, CGI used a mix of learning resources from Skillsoft, the CGI Academia learning platform, and other resources, including learning guides and sessions developed by CGI experts.
The training is part of CGI’s comprehensive strategy to expand AI capabilities in partnership with clients seeking to responsibly move from experimentation to implementation, while accelerating time-to-value.
