The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 12 billion workdays are lost due to depression and anxiety annually, costing the world economy $1 trillion in lost productivity every year. Mental health is a global crisis that requires concerted corporate action. At CGI, we are committed to fostering a workplace that prioritizes mental health and well-being and offers our professionals a safe, supportive and inclusive environment where they can thrive.

Signing the Leadership Pledge

To further our commitment, we have signed the Leadership Pledge with MindForward Alliance. This business-led initiative seeks to advance progress across the globe by committing to creating mentally healthy workplaces and sharing insights and best practices across workplaces to build a roadmap for change. As a signatory, we reaffirm our strong commitment to prioritizing the mental well-being of our professionals worldwide.

The pledge has been signed by over 100 organizations across 17 industries in 62 countries.

The Leadership Pledge

  1. Develop and deliver an action plan to support good mental health in CGI.
  2. Promote an open culture around mental health, working towards eliminating stigma.
  3. Take proactive steps to develop our culture and ways of working towards creating positive mental health and reducing mental ill-health.
  4. Empower all our professionals to manage and prioritize their own mental health, and to support one another.
  5. Signpost our professionals to the mental health tools and support they need.
  6. Regularly measure the impact of our efforts, be open about our progress, and influence and inspire change in our organization and beyond.

Advocating for mental well-being

At CGI, we prioritize mental well-being at all levels of the organization to create a culture of psychological safety where everyone feels respected and comfortable to bring their whole selves to work.

Mental health impacts all areas of life, such as work, relationships and our ability to participate in society. Nurturing strong communities in which we live and work requires supporting our professionals along the entire mental health continuum, which we do through global and local actions and initiatives, including workshops, training sessions, team challenges and awareness programs.

These initiatives, organized throughout the year across our global operations, help to spark important discussions, increase awareness and create opportunities for our professionals to engage and receive support in an enabling environment that underpins our collective success.
