The City of Munich, Bavaria's capital, is extending its 12-year contract with CGI for IT project management by an additional four years to include business process management services and the entire IT lifecycle. The goal of the expanded collaboration is to advance strategic digitalization projects. CGI's comprehensive services support the City of Munich in accelerating the digitization of processes as well as services for citizens, paving the way for greater efficiency, cost savings and an improved citizen experience.
Within the existing framework agreement, CGI was already responsible for IT project management services, including agile project management and related coaching services. The support included a variety of key digital projects, such as the implementation of electronic records management and the digitization of election monitoring and security. In addition, CGI and the City of Munich established a portal that provides citizens with access to online services and implemented a digital twin of the city to drive the development of sustainability, mobility and other innovative solutions.
With the new expanded role within the framework agreement, CGI will also provide business process management and full IT lifecycle services to support the advancement of these projects, as well as the design and implementation of new digital projects. The broader IT services CGI will provide include software design, development and implementation, IT security and change management.
