Vendor fraud scams have become prevalent whereby victims/suppliers are contacted for fake supply orders by someone posing as a legitimate institution to lure them into providing goods without paying for the supplies.
In the cases of fraudulent purchase orders, individuals purporting to either work for or be affiliated with CGI, notify suppliers that their supplies were found suitable for CGI and solicit the fraudulent purchase of goods. After the supplier ships the goods, the fraudster reroutes the package to their address and does not pay the invoice for the supplies delivered.
Please note that CGI has a detailed procurement policy that all CGI employees and suppliers are required to follow, and CGI emails always will be from the @cgi.com domain (or the @cgifederal.com domain for this wholly owned U.S. operating entity).
If you suspect fraud, please report the incident to your local authorities to help identify fraudulent activity within your jurisdiction and avoid having other victims of the same scam.
