Michael leads the Central Government Business Unit for CGI in the UK. His vision is for CGI to be recognised by UK Government as a world class end-to-end IT and business consulting services provider, helping them to succeed in delivering their ambition and strategy of critical, citizen-centric services - using the power of technology to improve the lives and security of UK citizens.

Michael studied Politics at Reading University and then completed an MA in International Relations at King’s College London. He started his career at the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and then held a number of positions at ICL and Fujitsu. Michael has spent the entirety of his twenty five year career either working in, or serving, the UK public sector.

Within CGI Michael has held several Sector Director roles and three Business Unit Leader positions delivering and profitably growing a broad range of U.K Public Sector engagements. In January 2018, Michael was appointed to lead the Central Government Business Unit Leader to deliver greater focus, clarity, and growth to this important part of CGI UK’s business. Michael has doubled the size of the business over the past 5 years and in 2022 was awarded the CGI ‘Builders award’ for his outstanding contributions to the firm. Michael is also the CGI UK and Global Net Zero Executive Sponsor, personally leading the charge on CGI UK’s progress towards our Net Zero target in 2026.

Outside of his work Michael enjoys spending time with family, running (every day), real ale, tennis, art, current affairs (a Politico at heart) and playing the Piano but not necessarily in that order.
