Leading by example in environmental sustainability

We take our own climate responsibilities seriously. We are committed to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2030 across our operations and supply chain. Our climate action plan is supported by science-based targets and a strong governance framework.

  • Cut overall emissions by 47% since FY2019, including a 95% reduction in Scope 2 emissions and 43% drop in electricity use

  • Transitioning to 100% renewable electricity by 2025

  • Improving energy efficiency across UK operations through smarter energy management, efficient systems, and building portfolio optimisation

  • Enhancing data centre efficiency by reducing energy waste and improving Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE)

  • Reducing Scope 3 emissions in collaboration with suppliers and clients

  • Planted 10,000 trees since 2021 through reforestation and community-led projects across the UK

  • Eliminated single-use plastics in office kitchens

  • Promoted sustainable commuting with cycling ambassadors in all UK offices

  • Empowered local action through office environmental ambassadors and engagement initiatives

Engaging CGI Partners in climate action

We recognise the urgency of the climate crisis and the vital role that businesses—and individuals—must play. Our No Planet B initiative supports CGI’s carbon reduction roadmap by engaging our UK-based CGI Partners in practical environmental action.

As part of the programme, CGI has planted over 10,000 trees across the UK including 5,500 through a reforesting programme in the Scottish Borders and 4,500 via schools, scout groups and community organisations.

Led by our No Planet B Ambassadors, CGI Partners have driven a range of impactful initiatives, from removing single-use plastics and promoting sustainable commuting to leading recycling efforts and organising environmental engagement activities.

This initiative empowers our people to make climate action part of everyday working life—making sustainability a shared responsibility across CGI.
