Local skills development

With over 1,200 members across the nation, we are proud to be one of Wales' largest employers and make local skills development a central feature of our ever-growing presence here.  We heavily invest in young Welsh talent, which not only benefits CGI but nurtures the generation of technical business leaders in Wales.

We offer higher and degree level apprenticeships in partnership with Swansea University, alongside other technical career pathways to encourage Welsh communities to access the many entry-level and experienced roles we have available.

Our Welsh members also support our STEM programme, reaching out to local schools to help foster technical skills and inspire the next generation to follow a career in IT.

Our award-winning service desk

We are proud that our service desk is continually recognised for its outstanding services to clients, having been awarded the Service Desk Institute’s (SDI) 5 star accreditation for twelve consecutive years. In fact, members from our Welsh team attended the SDI Awards 2022 and were honoured with the SDI Industry Recognition Award for commitment to service excellence.

This commitment to world-class standards is exemplified by numerous other awards won, including at the Welsh Contact Centre Awards 2022 and the UK Contact Centre Forum Awards 2022.

Security is part of everything we do

South Wales is home to our state of the art SOC. These 100 highly-skilled cyber security experts support clients across the UK’s commercial and public sectors with a range of services including protective monitoring, threat intelligence, threat hunting, incident response and forensics.

Whilst we do all we can to mitigate our clients’ cyber challenges, when it comes to security best practices everyone has a part to play! That’s why we developed the CGI Cyber Escape experience as a fun and memorable way to provide security awareness training to Welsh communities.

 

Committed to our environment

As a responsible business, CGI UK has committed to achieve net zero by 2026. This sustainability journey led us to start installing solar panels on the roof of our Waterton office in 2021; we now have the largest commercial building solar panel system in Wales, and have saved 85 tonnes of carbon emissions in our first year.

Beyond our own operations, we also use our innovative technologies and solutions to help protect our planet, and take part in many local projects and programmes to support our communities and the local environment. We are particularly proud of our work on the Welsh coastline, helping to reduce CO2 in partnership with Project Seagrass.
