The SAFe for Hardware Certification Course is a comprehensive two-day course designed to expedite the seamless integration of SAFe principles into hardware development, accelerate delivery and maintain flexibility while navigating the complexities of large system designs.

SAFe for Hardware includes:

  • Two days of immersive, instructor-led training.
  • 40% of the course dedicated to collaborative, hands-on exercises that bring theory into practice.
  • Group activities, where participants can apply Lean-Agile principles to real-world hardware challenges.
  • A completion quiz, which can be retaken at no additional cost, to demonstrate and validate understanding of the material.

Implementing SAFe (SPC)

Based on Version 6.0 of SAFe

During this five-day course, attendees will learn how to lead a Lean-Agile transformation by leveraging the practices and principles of the Scaled Agile Framework® (SAFe®), as well as the five core competencies of the Lean Enterprise. Attendees will also gain insights and practice how to coach programs, launch Agile Release Trains, build a Continuous Delivery Pipeline with DevOps culture and a Lean Portfolio.

The first two days of the course—Leading SAFe®—will provide them with the basis to teach SAFe to leaders. The final two days focus exclusively on what it takes to successfully implement SAFe in the enterprise.

Becoming a Certified SAFe 6 Program Consultant (SPC), and becoming a change agent, will enable attendees to coach and guide the enterprise to succeed in a disruptive marketplace and empower them to implement a Lean-Agile SAFe transformation.

SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE)

Based on Version 6.0 of SAFe

During this four-day course, attendees explore the skills needed to facilitate and enable end-to-end value delivery through Agile Release Trains (ARTs)—and learn how to build a high-performing ART through servant leadership and coaching—by becoming a SAFe® 6 Release Train Engineer (RTE). During this three-day course, attendees will gain an in-depth understanding of the role and responsibilities of an RTE in the SAFe enterprise.

Through experiential learning, attendees will examine the RTE role in a Lean-Agile transformation. They will learn how to facilitate ART processes and execution and coach leaders, teams and Scrum Masters in new processes and mindsets. They will also learn how to prepare, plan and execute a Program Increment (PI) planning event, the primary enabler of alignment throughout all levels of a SAFe organization.

Leading SAFe (SA)

Based on Version 6.0 of SAFe

During this three-day course, attendees will gain the knowledge necessary to lead a Lean-Agile enterprise by leveraging the Scaled Agile Framework® (SAFe®), and its underlying principles derived from Lean, systems thinking, Agile development, product development flow and DevOps. They will discuss the five competencies needed to become a Lean Enterprise. They will also learn and practice the skills for supporting and executing PI Planning events, and coordinating multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs).

Attendees will gain an understanding of the Lean-Agile mindset, why it’s so effective in today’s adapt-or-die marketplace, and what it means to lead a Lean-Agile transformation. They’ll also learn how to build and support Agile teams and Programs, empower a Lean Portfolio, build a Continuous Delivery Pipeline and DevOps culture and coordinate large solutions.

Attending the class prepares individuals to take the exam and become a certified SAFe 6 Agilist.

SAFe For Teams (SP)

Based on Version 6.0 of SAFe

During this three-day course, attendees will build the skills needed to become a high-performing team member of an Agile Release Train (ART)—and learn how to collaborate effectively with other teams—by becoming a SAFe® 6 Practitioner (SP). Attendees will gain an in-depth understanding of the ART, how it delivers value and what they can do to effectively perform their role using Scrum, Kanban and XP.

They will also learn how to write stories and break down features, plan and execute iterations and plan Program Increments. Finally, they’ll learn about the continuous delivery pipeline and DevOps culture, how to effectively integrate with other teams in the program and what it takes to continuously improve the train.

SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM)

Based on Version 6.0 of SAFe

During this three-day course, attendees will gain an in-depth understanding of the Agile Release Train (ART), how it delivers value and what they can do to effectively perform their role. They will develop the skillsets needed to guide the delivery of value in a Lean enterprise—and learn about the activities, tools and mechanics used to manage backlogs and programs—by becoming a SAFe® 6 Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM).

They will also learn how to apply Lean thinking to write Epics, break them down into Features and Stories, plan and execute Iterations and plan Program Increments. Finally, attendees learn about the Continuous Delivery Pipeline and DevOps culture, how to effectively integrate as Product Owners and Product Managers and what it takes to relentlessly improve the ART.

SAFe Scrum Master (SSM)

Based on Version 6.0 of SAFe

In this three-day course, attendees will gain an understanding of the role of a Scrum Master in a SAFe enterprise.

Unlike traditional Scrum Master training that focuses on the fundamentals of team-level Scrum, the SAFe Scrum Master course explores the role of the Scrum Master in the context of the entire enterprise and prepares attendees to successfully plan and execute the Program Increment (PI), the primary enabler of alignment throughout all levels of a SAFe organization. This includes learning the key components of Agile at scale development, how Scrum is facilitated throughout the enterprise and how to execute Iteration Planning.

Attendees will also discover how to build high-performing Agile teams by becoming servant leaders and coaches and how to coach those teams to deliver the maximum business value at scale. SAFe 6 Scrum Master (SSM) certification signifies that people are prepared to perform the role of Scrum Master in a SAFe environment, increasing their value to teams and organizations that are implementing SAFe.

SAFe DevOps (SDP)

Based on Version 6.0 of SAFe

This three-day course provides a comprehensive overview for understanding the DevOps competencies needed to accelerate time-to-market by improving the flow of value through the Continuous Delivery Pipeline. Attendees will map the current value stream through their delivery pipeline from idea to cash and identify practices that will eliminate bottlenecks to flow.

The course will build an understanding of the complete flow of value from Continuous Exploration to Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment and Release on Demand. Attendees will explore SAFe’s CALMR (Culture, Automation, Lean, Measure, Recover) approach to DevOps, which helps create a culture of shared responsibility for the full spectrum of Solution delivery. It helps align people, processes and technology throughout the organization to achieve faster time-to-market.

Attendees will leave with the tools they need to execute an implementation plan for improving their delivery pipeline, and the knowledge they need to support the plan. The course also prepares students for the optional SAFe® 6 DevOps Practitioner (SDP) certification exam.

SAFe for Architects (ARCH)

Based on Version 6.0 of SAFe

During this three-day course, attendees will explore the roles, responsibilities and mindset of Agile Architects, and appreciate how to align architecture with business value and drive continuous flow to large systems of systems while supporting SAFe program execution. The SAFe® 6 Architects course prepares System, Solution, and Enterprise Architects to engage across the organization as effective leaders and change agents who collaboratively deliver architectural solutions. Attendees will be able to improve collaboration and alignment in a SAFe® Lean-Agile enterprise when they become a SAFe 6 Architect.

This course is for senior technical contributors who need to understand the role of System, Solution, and Enterprise Architects in Lean-Agile enterprises. The course is also appropriate for individuals desiring a deeper view into how architecture enables continuous value flow and how architects engage in and contribute to a Lean-Agile enterprise.

Agile Product Management (APM)

Lean Portfolio Management (LPM)

During this three-day course, attendees will gain the practical tools and techniques necessary to implement the Lean Portfolio Management functions of Strategy and Investment Funding, Agile Portfolio Operations and Lean Governance.

Participants in the course will have the opportunity to use the Portfolio Canvas tool to capture their portfolios' current and future states and identify important business initiatives for achieving the future state.

Participants will be able to establish portfolio flow with the Portfolio Kanban and prioritize initiatives for maximum economic benefit. The course also provides insights on how to establish Value Stream Budgets and Lean Budget Guardrails and measure the Lean portfolio performance.

SAFe for Government: Roles and Responsibilities Micro-Credential

The SAFe for Government: Roles and Responsibilities Micro-Credential is a blended learning experience designed to provide government employees and contractors with practice pairing SAFe activities with associated roles in a government context. The course equips government employees with the skills needed to navigate the unique challenges of working in government and embrace Agile practices at scale.

Agile work in government can be quite challenging due to long-standing bureaucratic processes and outdated labor categories that hinder the flexibility required to manage Agile acquisitions. Delivery at Scale provides you with Portfolio Management and Program Management approaches to maximize the value produced by your products. The class will introduce the subject of scaling and will provide a high-level review of various approaches to scaling development within your organization. In large, complex organizations, traditional Agile practices such as Scrum do not work well with large, diverse, teams and products. This course will provide tools to your organization to maximize the value of its investments while supporting large products and teams.

Agile Project and Delivery Management (ICP-APM)

A servant leadership mindset and approach is critical to empowering Agile teams to produce great results. That is why this ICAgile-accredited course looks in-depth at the fundamental Agile concepts of adaptive planning, customer collaboration and value-driven delivery - some core distinctions between an Agile project leadership role and a traditional Project Manager.

People at every level and in practically every role in today’s organizations are required to focus on customer delight and bring innovation and continuous improvement into their work. This is a hard challenge and one that requires either building new muscles or limbering up muscles we may not use often. This highly experiential set of learning outcomes equips participants with new knowledge, tools and techniques to implement immediately. The ICAgile Certified Professional in Business Agility Foundations (ICP-BAF) is intended to jump-start the organizational and individual transformation toward a more responsive, value-driven reality.

Agile Product Management (ICP-PDM)

Product Management is a discreet discipline connected to, yet apart from, Product Ownership. Agile Testing (ICP-TST)

This certification focuses primarily on Agile testing techniques and processes in addition to the mindset and role of an Agile tester. Learning outcomes include the ability to distinguish the diverse types of testing on an Agile effort, and understanding how business, development and testing personnel best collaborate on an Agile development cadence. In addition, course participants will learn Agile test strategies and techniques related to release planning, testing within iterations, regression testing, performance testing, pre-deployment and production support testing. This course includes the ICAgile Professional Agile Testing Certification (ICP-TST).

Agile Coaching (ICP-ACC)

Designed by key thought leaders who defined the discipline of agile coaching, the Agile Coaching certification verifies an understanding of the tools, skills and techniques needed to coach agile teams. Learners will be able to differentiate between teaching, mentoring, facilitating and coaching and determine when each is most effective.

Leading with Agility (ICP-LEA)

This knowledge-based designation is an industry-recognized credential that demonstrates knowledge of the key aspects of organizational agility capability and agile leadership. Foundations of Artificial Intelligence (ICP-FAI)
