Deb Mohapatra serves as a Senior Vice-President of operations for CGI’s U.S. Great Lakes business unit. The Great Lakes BU serves commercial and government clients in key industries, including financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, utilities and state and local government.
Deb has over 24 years of experience in client relationship management, strategic planning, business development, P&L management, global delivery and portfolio management. Over the years, Deb has successfully led global teams to deliver on medium and large-scale transformation initiatives for financial services clients in the U.S.
Known for building high-performing teams, Deb is a results-oriented technology executive with extensive experience in IT and business consulting services. He also leads CGI’s banking practice in the U.S., driving the go-to-market strategy for banking across all of CGI’s U.S. geographic business units. Deb is a key member of the CGI Global Banking Council, representing the banking and financial services industry in the U.S.
Deb joined CGI in November 2005 as a CGI IP SME in the Credit Solutions domain. After supporting multiple IP implementation engagements for financial services and telecom clients, Deb took on various delivery lead roles at CGI, supporting a large banking client. His experience includes leading enterprise-level engagements in customer information, retail lending and risk and regulatory reporting.
Passionate about encouraging careers in computer science, Deb serves as the executive sponsor of the Pittsburgh Penguins Tech Academy, where students learn from leaders in sports and business technology.
Deb holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Bangalore University and a Master’s in Computer Management from Pune University.
