CGI Group Inc. (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A), a leading provider of information technology and business process services, today announced that the City of San Diego, CA has selected CGI to serve as the provider of application development and maintenance services for the City’s 165+ applications spanning 18 departments. The contract is valued at US$91.5 million, which includes an initial five-year base period and a two-year renewal extension.
CGI’s locally-based delivery experts will assume full responsibility for day-to-day development and maintenance of the city’s diverse application portfolio, allowing the City’s core staff to focus on priority citizen-facing services.. CGI experts will bring service level agreements and IT governance processes to drive performance and efficiency improvements. Technology innovation, a goal of the City’s IT sourcing strategy, will be driven by CGI to guide enhancements and modernization of the portfolio. The City will benefit from CGI’s industry-leading tools and processes to enhance service quality as well as significant depth and breadth from skilled application developers.
