CGI Partners and Business Units worldwide mobilized throughout 2024 to help people experiencing food insecurity. Among the many examples include:

Asia-Pacific

  • In the Philippines, our consultants and professionals worked with the Scholars of Sustenance Rescue Kitchen Program to transform surplus food into 600 nutritious meals, combating hunger in the community. We also made a $50,000 donation to help expand the program’s reach and impact by donating a Food Rescue Truck. As an environmental benefit, repurposing surplus food reduces landfill waste and the production of methane.
  • CGI for Good volunteers in India prepared, packed, and distributed 5,000 healthy meals to those in need. This initiative provides essential sustenance while showing those struggling that they are valued.

Europe

  • During Social Impact Week in the UK, our 53 volunteering activities included five food bank collections.
  • For Giving Tuesday, CGI in Spain organized a food drive and set up an online donation form. CGI pledged €2 per kilogram of food or online donation received by the Spanish Federation of Food Banks (FESBAL).
  • CGI Partners joined up with a nonprofit organization supporting people in need (Münchner Tafel e.V.) to sort, organize, and package rescued surplus food donations, with multiple volunteering dates confirmed for 2025.
  • On February 26th, CGI Partners in Norway supported Gateteam Oslo, a charity aiding individuals experiencing homelessness. We assisted with preparations and organized a donation drive, collecting clothing, hygiene products, and essentials to support their important work.

North America

  • Our U.S. Commercial and State Government and CGI Federal Strategic Business Units (SBUs) gave a combined $103,000 to non-profit organizations fighting food insecurity. In addition to this, CGI Partners across the U.S. organized several food drives and volunteered at food banks and community gardens throughout the year.
  • In Canada, our combined efforts raised $47,500 for food banks and charities. Similarly, a $30,000 donation from our Corporate Services global IT team benefited Moisson regional food banks. For the tenth year, our consultants and professionals in Montreal packed and distributed holiday gift baskets for Mission Nouvelle Génération. We also contributed to St. Michael’s Mission, a warm and friendly refuge in the heart of Montreal for disadvantaged and vulnerable members of the community. The Mission provides valuable services, including meals and snacks, clean clothing, hygiene assistance, and emergency food distribution.

At the company level, as part of our annual Voice of our CGI Partners survey, CGI BUs with the best participation rate get the opportunity to donate money to nongovernmental organizations. Eleven food banks were among the 33 recipients this year.
