Featuring CGI's newest radio and newsroom solutions

CGI will showcase its latest media solutions and IT services at this year's IBC2024 event from September 13-16 at the RAI Amsterdam center, hall 8, stand 8.B47. The show will address the critical challenges of modern broadcasters and radio stations as TV merges with online and social platforms. CGI will show key updates across the main pillars of its business.

CGI dira radio production suite

CGI will debut the latest version of our radio production solution dira Dimension, which now includes seamless integration with applications from the Adobe Creative Cloud, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Audition. This new feature allows users to edit media files externally within Adobe's industry-standard software, providing greater flexibility and efficiency in media production workflows, including AI-driven functionalities for enhanced automation.

We will also introduce a fully web-based, multi-track audio editor. This cutting-edge tool is equipped with server-based rendering functionalities, allowing users to edit and render audio projects directly from their web browsers. This development is set to revolutionize the way media professionals collaborate and work, providing unprecedented flexibility and ease of use.

Additionally, CGI will present new AI-driven functionalities within dira. This includes speech-to-text capabilities for audio transcription, enabling faster and more accurate content management. We will showcase how this technology is allowing for automated announcements and how it’s further enhancing the automation capabilities of the dira suite.

The new capabilities in dira showcase our commitment to integrating AI throughout our product range,” says Michael Thielen, Vice President Consulting Services at CGI. “As always though we are doing this while also paying close attention to the human factors in newsroom and radio processes, ensuring that any deployed AI is there for a compelling reason and augments existing workflows.”

OpenMedia newsroom solution

A key innovation in the CGI OpenMedia Newsroom solution is the CGI OpenMedia Intelligent Assistant, which offers AI-driven news production in a secure and fully GDPR-compliant manner. There are also important updates to OpenMedia NewsBoard, ReporterApp, Metrics, and Insights that further improve the OpenMedia newsroom solution.

At IBC2024, CGI will showcase new third-party integrations with OpenMedia, enhancing newsroom solutions with leading cloud production tools like Grass Valley AMPP, Vizrt® Viz Flowics, and Chyron LyricX. These integrations facilitate advanced media asset management and enable broadcasters to produce shows more efficiently for multiple digital platforms. Furthermore, OpenMedia now supports improved communication through an extended Microsoft Teams integration for easier data exchange in newsrooms.

We have several integrations to show live at IBC covering both, traditional and cloud-based production workflows.” says Michael Pfitzner, Vice President Consulting Expert at CGI. “Supporting on-prem and cloud production solutions in OpenMedia is an important factor enabling our clients to make the best and most economic choice from market’s variety of production systems.”
