As utilities embrace the new digitally connected ecosystem, pan-European collaboration on energy data services and management, data quality and security, value-added customer services and flexibility, is key to accelerating the energy transition required to meet climate goals set by the European Union.
Now in its ninth year, CGI’s annual Central Market Debate brings together C-level utility executives to discuss the energy market and the role of central market facilitation in a sector with increasing fragmentation, characterized by decentralized energy resources and an increasing number of market players, making the grid more complex to balance.
This two-day, highly interactive, invitation-only event takes place in proximity to key market players. The agenda is curated to facilitate industry-shaping dialogue among stakeholders across the energy value chain. Speakers include senior executives, government representatives and other industry experts.
The debate allows international industry experts, influencers and executives to gather in an informal setting, exchange ideas on the future of central market operations, share the latest trends and best practices, and network with peers in similar roles across Europe.
The agenda is shaped by a team of market experts who gather to set the overall theme and define the discussion topics most relevant to current developments. Previous topics have included:
- The TSO-LDC cooperation
- Energy flexibility
- The role of data hubs in the new energy markets
- The role of data exchanges between participants to extend the market to the benefit of consumers
- The evolving role of market facilitators in the energy ecosystem
A highly valued event, 100% of previous debate participants say they would attend again and recommend it to their peers.
