New solutions for cross-media challenges

In addition to audio files, multimedia radio databases are now storing new media formats and a rising number of cross-media combinations. dira Medox provides an organizational system that can seamlessly manage combinations like videos and pictures that appear as main items and stories that contain multimedia content.

Our web browser-based, single-track audio editor enables broadcast journalists to work remotely and on platforms not previously supported. The contributor system is an intuitive catalog for individuals, groups and organizations that need to reduce multiple entries, and supports multimedia workflows such as the visual illustration of audio content for DAB+, internet usage, and more.

These innovations are the foundation that dira Medox's new combined full-text search is built on. With multimedia items and the new persona models, it is easier than ever for users to find what they need. Additionally, our filter options allow for more detailed searches.

Optimized functionalities

Besides being able to store your media assets, dira Medox also features the optimized dira database functions. It is now possible to pre-listen to audio, view pictures and videos and access the metadata directly in the interface.

You can also edit audio, videos, images and documents with our integrated editing tools, and cross-media productions to support seamless content creation and playout.

  • Cloud-friendly, service-oriented architecture: dira Medox can be installed both on-premises or as a cloud deployment depending on your needs and preferences.
  • Role-based configurations: dira Medox provides both list and detail views for role-based configurations based on item type and selected user role. Powerful sorting criteria and additional search fields offer a complete overview of assignments, while remote site assignments can also be configured.

Web audio player, single-track and multi-track editor improvements

  • Single-track editor: Enables soft cuts within clips by applying micro-crossfades when cutting within a clip to avoid audible clicking noises.
  • Waveform display: Now optimized for zooming. The waveform peak values display has been optimized to improve zooming performance for longer audio files.
  • Web-based multi-track editor: This integrated feature allows you to edit content, cut and arrange clips across four tracks. No additional installation is required, and it can be accessed from any location over the internet.
